GlassJar Inc. (“GlassJar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds accounting software for small businesses and the bookkeepers and accountants who serve them.

This policy explains what information we collect through glassjar.io (the “Website”), our free online tools, and our accounting software once you have an account (the “Services”). Together these are the “Platform.”

GlassJar’s accounting software is scheduled to launch publicly in September 2026. Parts of this policy describe how we will handle information once you have an account. Until then, the sections about the Website, our free tools, and our marketing lists are the ones that apply to you.

This summary is for convenience. The full policy below governs.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Waitlist, forms, and downloads. When you join our early access list, request a discount code, download a resource, enroll in a course, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, and anything else you choose to enter, which may include your company name, job title, phone number, and what accounting software you currently use.

Support requests. When you contact support, we collect your contact details and the contents of your message.

Job applications. If you apply for a role, we collect the information in your application and resume.

Account and billing information. When the Services launch and you create an account, we will collect your name, email address, password, business details, and billing information. Payments are processed by a third party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.

Information you put into the Services. Once you are using our accounting software, you will enter financial and business records. That content belongs to you. We treat it as confidential and we describe how we use it in Section 4.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Website, we and our analytics and advertising providers collect your IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, links clicked, and time spent on pages. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies. See Section 6.

Information from other sources

We may receive information about you from analytics and advertising partners, and from publicly available business sources, which we use to understand who is interested in GlassJar and to improve our marketing.

2. Our free tools

We publish free online tools such as calculators, generators, and templates.

These tools run entirely in your web browser. The figures and business information you enter are processed on your own device. They are not transmitted to GlassJar, are not stored on our servers, and are not accessible to our employees or service providers.

If a tool offers to save your work, it saves it in your own browser’s local storage on your own device. We cannot read it. You can clear it at any time from within the tool or by clearing your browser data.

If you choose to download a file that a tool produced, we ask for your email address so we can add you to our mailing list. We collect the email address. We do not receive the contents of your file.

Some tools have their own supplemental notice with additional detail. Where a tool notice and this policy conflict, the tool notice controls for that tool.

3. Free resources and discounts in exchange for your email

Some of what we offer is free in exchange for your email address. Downloads, templates, courses, and tool exports work this way. You get the resource and we add you to our mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time and keep whatever you downloaded.

We also run a launch discount offer. Because that involves a price difference, California law treats it as a financial incentive program, and requires us to describe it specifically. See Section 11.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Platform
• Create and manage accounts, and process payments
• Send you the resources, files, and courses you request
• Send marketing emails about GlassJar, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
• Respond to support requests and questions
• Understand how the Website and tools are used, so we can make them better
• Measure and target our advertising
• Evaluate job applications
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use

Content you enter into the Services. We access the financial records you enter into our accounting software only as needed to operate the Services, provide support you request, comply with law, or investigate security and abuse. We do not sell that content, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train machine learning models that serve anyone other than you.

Profiling. We group contacts into marketing segments based on information such as what resources you downloaded and what pages you viewed, so we can send more relevant email. We do not use profiling to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects about you. Residents of some states can opt out of profiling anyway. See Section 10.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We share information with:

• Service providers who work on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery, customer relationship management, analytics, payment processing, and support tooling. They are bound by contract to use it only to provide services to us.
• Advertising and analytics partners. Cookies and similar technologies on our Website share identifiers and browsing activity with advertising platforms so we can measure and target ads. Under California law and some other state laws this can count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at Your Privacy Choices.
• Professional advisors such as lawyers and accountants, under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal and safety recipients, when we believe disclosure is required by law, court order, or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of GlassJar, our users, or others.
• A buyer or successor, if GlassJar is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We will notify you if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for four purposes:

• Necessary. Required for the Website to function, such as security and session management. These cannot be switched off.
• Preferences. Remember your settings.
• Analytics. Help us understand how the Website is used.
• Marketing. Support advertising and measurement, including advertising shown to you on other websites.

Analytics and advertising cookies are active when you arrive on our Website. You can turn off non-necessary cookies at any time at Your Privacy Choices, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

You can manage non-necessary cookies through the consent banner on our Website, and you can change your choice at any time at Your Privacy Choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Website may stop working.

Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for the browser that sends it. Our Website does not respond to older Do Not Track browser signals, which lack an agreed standard.

7. How long we keep information

• Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, and then for a short period in a suppression list so we do not email you again.
• Website analytics: for the retention period configured in our analytics tools, currently [14 months] from collection.
• Support correspondence: [24 months] after the request is resolved.
• Job applications: [12 months] after the role is filled, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
• Account and billing records: for as long as your account is active, and afterward as needed to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
• Content you enter into the Services: for as long as your account is active. After you close your account we delete or de-identify it within [90 days], except where we are required to keep it.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit, access controls that limit staff access to what their role requires, and monitoring for unauthorized access.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at support@glassjar.io.

9. Your choices

Marketing email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us. We will still send you transactional messages about your account.

Cookies and advertising. Use Your Privacy Choices or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. You can also opt out through industry tools at optout.aboutads.info, networkadvertising.org/choices, and youronlinechoices.com, and through the ad settings offered by Google and Meta. These opt-outs are per browser and per device.

Access, correction, and deletion. Email support@glassjar.io. See Sections 10 and 11 for the rights that apply where you live.

10. California privacy rights

This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information, as those categories are defined by California law.

We collect this information from you directly, from your activity on our Website, and from analytics and advertising partners. We use it for the purposes in Section 4 and disclose it as described in Section 5. We keep each category for the periods in Section 7.

Sensitive personal information. The only sensitive personal information we collect is account login credentials, and we use it only to authenticate you and secure your account. Because we use it solely for purposes California law permits without a separate limitation right, we do not offer a “limit the use of my sensitive personal information” process. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

Your rights

California residents have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share
• Access a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions
• Opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information, visit Your Privacy Choices or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

We verify your identity by matching the information in your request against what we already hold. We may ask for additional information if we cannot verify you from what you provide. We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by another 45 days with notice to you.

You may use an authorized agent. We will ask for written proof of their authority and may ask you to confirm directly.

Shine the Light. California residents may request information once per year about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Email support@glassjar.io.

11. Notice of Financial Incentive

We offer a launch discount to people who join our early access list before GlassJar’s public launch. Because that offer gives you a price benefit in exchange for personal information, California law treats it as a financial incentive and requires the following disclosures.

What the program is. You provide your name and email address. In return, we email you a discount code that can be applied to a GlassJar subscription at launch.

Material terms. Participation is free. The discount amount, eligible plans, and expiration are stated in the offer at the time you sign up. You may unsubscribe at any time, and you keep any discount code already issued to you.

How to opt in. Submit the sign-up form on our Website. Submitting the form is your opt-in.

How to withdraw. Click the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or email support@glassjar.io and ask to be removed. Withdrawing does not affect anything you already received.

Good faith estimate of value. We value the personal information provided under this program at approximately the face value of the discount offered, and no more than [$X] per participant. We calculated this using the expense we incur in providing the incentive, which is the discount amount itself. We do not resell this information, and we have no other basis on which to value it.

Why we believe the program is permitted. The difference in price is reasonably related to the value the information provides to us, calculated as described above. Participation is entirely voluntary and declining costs you nothing other than the discount.

12. Other state privacy rights

If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, or Rhode Island, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Nevada residents may separately direct us not to sell certain personal information. Email support@glassjar.io.

Make a request the same way California residents do, at support@glassjar.io. To opt out of targeted advertising, use Your Privacy Choices.

Appeals. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word “appeal.” We will respond within the time your state’s law allows, and will tell you how to contact your state attorney general if you disagree with the outcome.

13. Visitors outside the United States

GlassJar is based in the United States and we process and store information here. Our Platform is intended for users in the United States. If you access it from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

14. Children

The Platform is intended for businesses and for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email support@glassjar.io and we will delete it.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make a material change, we will provide more prominent notice, such as an email or a notice on the Website. Continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
